🩸 Welcome to Nosebleed Sports!
Good morning and welcome to the first edition of Nosebleed Sports!
Nosebleed Sports is a free email newsletter for every type of sports fan. We will talk about all sports, and we will talk about all aspects of sports - news, business, analytics, debates, memes (how about that situation Zion got himself into eh?) - there will be something for everyone. I promise that if you love anything about sports, you will love your time in the Nosebleeds.
Now I wanted to use this first newsletter to kind of explain why I started this whole thing in the first place. For awhile now, I’ve wanted to start a side project/hustle and see if I could make a little bit of money. So I went through Google, YouTube and TikTok looking for that perfect side hustle. But I never found it. I started to wonder if I was the problem. Was I just too lazy and unmotivated to start a side hustle? It wasn’t until one of my best friends started her side project that I realized that wasn’t the case. Rather than focusing on making some passive income, she was simply just doing something she loved to do, and I realized I should do the same. So thank you to that friend for the inspiration - this never would have come to fruition without you.
My greatest passion my whole life has been sports. Watching and playing sports have consumed the vast majority of my personal time since I was a little kid (and definitely didn’t help my grades in university lol), so if I was going to begin a side project it had to be sports. After some deliberation on different projects I could pursue relating to sports, I came to the conclusion that an email newsletter would be easy to get up and running (ha, so he thought). I talked to a few friends about the idea as I still wasn’t 100% sold, then the PGA Tour merged with LIV Golf and I was like “damn, would’ve been nice to have a newsletter to talk about this.” Then Messi agreed to join MLS club Inter Miami and I was like “damn, would’ve been nice to have a newsletter to talk about this too.” Then Nick Taylor gave us a top two moment in Canadian golf history, sinking a 72-foot eagle putt to beat Tommy Fleetwood in a playoff at the RBC Canadian Open, and I was like “start the damn newsletter before you miss another monumental sports moment.” So here we are.
To wrap it up, I just want to say how thankful I am to everyone who has subscribed to this point and how excited I am to start this journey. I want this to become a community of sports fans, and will do my best to continuously learn how to improve (like listening to every interview I can find with the Morning Brew founders the last few days) and create quality email newsletters for you all. I also want to admit that I am a diehard fan of certain teams, but I’ll try my best to keep my biases to a minimum (and please call me out if I don’t).
If there are any sports stories y’all would like me to look into or have any thoughts about the newsletter (good or bad), please feel free to respond to any of the newsletters directly, or reach out to me on Twitter: @nbleedsports (link should be below… still learning how to use this platform lol). And if you enjoy the content, please share it with your friends and follow the Twitter account!
That’s all for now. Sounds like Pierre-Luc Dubois will soon be a Los Angeles King (good riddance), so you’ll likely be hearing from me again soon with my thoughts on that.
Thanks again!
From,
The Nosebleeds🩸
