🩸 The Texas Rangers win the 2023 World Series

☀️ Good morning and welcome back to The Nosebleeds.

🤠 Everything is bigger in Texas—the Rangers’ big bats carried them to their first World Series championship in franchise history.

⏱️ No time to waste, let’s get going.

⭐️ The Commissioner’s Trophy is staying in Texas

The Texas Rangers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday night to win their first World Series in franchise history.

Here is the winning moment for the Rangers:

Texas made quick work of the Diamondbacks, winning the series in five games, including all three games in Arizona. Superstar shortstop Corey Seager took home his second World Series MVP award—but his marquee moment came in Game 1 of the series with his two-run homer in the bottom of the 9th inning to tie the game, which the Rangers later won via a walk-off HR off the bat of Adolis Garcia.

Texas didn’t lose a single playoff game on the road, the first time to ever achieve this insane feat.

The Rangers didn’t build their team in a traditional way. They didn’t have loads of young talent that they developed and eventually became homegrown superstars. Rather, Texas threw bags of money at some of baseball’s top players in free agency, including Corey Seager, Marcus Semien, and Nathan Eovaldi. Their investment has clearly paid off, as they went from a 60-win team in 2021 to today’s World Series champions.

Every time a team wins a championship, especially their first in franchise history or first in decades, you see videos of how much these teams and championships mean to people. As far as Rangers fans are concerned, there is no better example than this guy right here:

Love that stuff.

Only 146 days until the 2024 MLB season!
