š©ø Shark Weak
āļø Good morning and welcome back to The Nosebleeds.
š We are back, and better than ever.
š¦ The worst teamā¦ ever?
The San Jose Sharks may be off to the worst start in NHL history.
San Jose is 1-10-1 heading into a Thursday night matchup against the 2-8-1 Edmonton Oilers (good Stanley Cup pick, idiot). But itās not just that the Sharks have a really bad recordāthey are getting bulldozed by the rest of the NHL. The Sharks have scored a measly 14 goals through 12 games (only one ahead of Auston Matthews himself), and have allowed 56 goals as well. A -42 goal differential. In 12 games. Theyāre damn near losing by four goals a game!
Even in their lone win, a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, the Sharks were saved by their goaltending as they were outshot 39-19ā¦ and the Flyers arenāt even good. San Jose certainly didnāt deserve to win that hockey game.
According to MoneyPuck.com, the Sharks boast an xG% slightly above 39% at even strengthāby far the worst in the league. But what is their actual GF% at even strength? 15.91%.
So yes, the San Jose Sharks are the worst team in the NHL. But are they as bad as the box score tells us and the worst NHL team of all-time? I donāt think so.
š¤ NHL Trivia
That brings us to todayās trivia!
Through 12 games, the San Jose Sharks are allowing nearly 4.7 goals against per gameāon pace for 383 goals against over the course of an entire season. However, that wouldnāt be the most in NHL history.
Question: which team allowed the most goals ever in a NHL season?
Answer at the bottom.
š NFL Week 10

Team valuations are always interesting when compared within leagues, but they are quite interesting when compared to other leagues as well.
