🩸 Everybody's a loser

☀️ Good morning and welcome back to The Nosebleeds.

❌ Won’t be seeing any more zeroes in the loss column of the NFL standings.

🗞️ Another newsletter, let’s begin.

💩 Previously undefeated Niners and Eagles both take an L

As we head into week 7, no NFL team will be undefeated.

This is thanks to two stunning losses—San Francisco lost to a Cleveland Browns team that didn’t have starting QB Deshaun Watson, and Jalen Hurts looked like trash against the New York Jets as he threw three interceptions, including this one late in the game that cost the Philadelphia the victory.

Both teams move to 5-1 on the season, and there are now five teams with the same record that share a spot atop the NFL standings.

  • Detroit Lions

  • Kansas City Chiefs

  • Miami Dolphins

  • Philadelphia Eagles

  • San Francisco 49ers

But there are question marks for all of these teams…

  • The Lions are the Lions

  • The Chiefs have no receivers

  • The Dolphins have played against one elite team and got blown out

  • The Eagles offense has looked average at best to start the season

  • And can Brock Purdy really lead the Niners to a Super Bowl (I think so, but he was horrendous against the Browns this week… 12/27, 125 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT)

Plenty of parity in the NFL this year, truly feels like there is a good chunk of teams who can compete for a Super Bowl. The remainder of the season is set-up to be excellent.

🤔 Running Trivia

Ran my first half marathon this weekend, so of course today’s trivia question is going to relate to that.

  • Question: who owns the half marathon (13.1 miles) world record (bonus point if you guess the time within 30 seconds of the actual time).

Answer at the bottom.
