šŸ©ø Carlos Alcaraz wins Wimbledon

Plus: Vondrousova wins women's Wimbledon title, FIFA Women's World Cup, and more!

Morning yā€™all.

Happy Friday and welcome back to The NosebleedsšŸ©ø

Little bit of a quiet week in sports so far, but we still have a couple stories on tap for ya.

Letā€™s go.

Carlos Alcaraz defeats Novak Djokovic in Wimbledon final

In a five set thriller of a final, 20-year-old Carlos Alcaraz defeated Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon finalā€”handing Novak his first loss at Wimbledon since 2017 quarter-finals.

There are no words to describe how good Alcaraz really is. He is simply unbelievable.

Here are some tweets to try and put his greatness into perspective:

Absolute weapon.

If you havenā€™t watched this guy play beforeā€”do it. A generational talent who will captivate even non-sports fans with his style of play.

The fact that the guy is only 20 years old sure makes me feel like a bum at 22.

Marketa Vondrousova beats Ons Jabeur in the Womenā€™s Final

Jabeur was the heavy favorite going into this match, but it didnā€™t seem to matter as Vondrousova won the match in straight sets (6-4, 6-4).

What a performance for Vondrousova, as she became the lowest ranked female player to ever win Wimbledon.

What a historic tournament 2023 Wimbledon was.

FIFA Womenā€™s World Cup 2023 is underway

The Americans have won the last two World Cups, and are the favorites to make it three in a row in Australia at this yearā€™s tournament.

Here are the top 10 in the FIFA Womenā€™s Rankings, along with their betting odds to win the tournament provided by DraftKings:

  1. USA (+250, PWin = 28.6%)

  2. Germany (+700, PWin = 12.5%)

  3. Sweden (+1600, PWin = 5.9%)

  4. England (+400, PWin = 20%)

  5. France (+1000, PWin = 9.1%)

  6. Spain (+450, PWin = 18.2%)

  7. Canada (+3500, PWin = 2.8%)

  8. Brazil (+2500, PWin = 3.8%)

  9. Netherlands (+2000, PWin = 4.8%)

  10. Australia (+1000, PWin = 9.1%)

Should be an outstanding World Cup.

Bloody Good Play of the WeekšŸ©ø

New segment alert šŸšØ

In our first ever Bloody Good Play of the WeekšŸ©ø, we have none other than NBA Superstar Steph Curryā€¦ on the golf course.

Steph went on to win the whole damn celebrity golf tournament, making an eagle on the last hole to win.

What canā€™t this guy do?!
